hi guys just to let you know thallium test went well i think. small damage to heart but low risk with good pumping action. i’m stoked. don’t need to go to cath lab this time. he’s sure they won’t find anything as ecg and bloods show no changes to last ones. got a blocked smaller vessel which he thinks is causing the pain along with spasms. he up isosorbide from 20mg a day on monday to 40mg. and he’s doubled them again to 80mg today in the hope of achieving equivalent to a beta blocker. hopefully as he would like to have me on one but i’m too symptomatic. fingers crossed. home tomorrow as long as no reaction to increase in meds. a big thanks to you all for your kind words and encouragement. you really are a wonderful bunch❤️shiona

Oh well done, great that you've avoided the cath lab.

TBH - if I were you I'd stay in hospital this weekend. Storm Ellen is hammering through the northern half of the country with snow forecast for Scotland. At least in hospital you'll have 3 meals a day without having to worry about getting provisions!😊 Keep well.

Glad to hear you're doing good and got a possible escape route planned. Kevin was on the slow release isosorbide and that really worked him. Keep in touch xx

oh i wouldn’t bet on it just yet sunnie. i jinxed myself posting that. iv had severe pain on and off all night and to top it all off iv vomited everywhere. i think they’ve pushed they’re luck with too many increases in meds too quickly. but tomorrow’s another day. as james says onwards and upwards🤞

Might be a blessing in disguise - hail is hitting the house here so hard I can't sleep (between Dundee and Aberdeen, up the glens) and the wind is howling. I've just had an email from a friend over in the West and she says it's the same there. The forecast is for this to continue on through Monday all across Scotland.

So not wishing you more pain or being sick but you might be in the best place this weekend at least.

I hope you can get some sleep now and wake feeling much better!

Yes big jumps in medication can be difficult. Slowly and steadily trying to find the right balance. Usually a pharmacist comes round the wards to check the prescription sheets. If they don’t maybe ask to see them and ask their advice. Just a thought as they have the best knowledge in terms of drug titrations and interactions. Sorry to see you’ve been poorly again. Stay strong. Zena xx

Hi Shoshov, sorry to hear of your problems, when will the doctors take into account that we aren’t all 18st middle aged men, which what is most of the medication is tested on. Everyone, especially women need a more balanced approach to medication to get it right for the individual.

I’m fascinated how the weather can be so different in our small country, I’m on the South coast and we are promised a good day if a bit windy.

Hope today is better for you. Hugs.

Hope they get you sorted, Shiona. 80mg of Isosorbide sounds like a huge dose. I'm only on 25mg, but I'm on the beta blockers as well.

Shoshov profile image
Shoshov in reply toAlison_L

that’s what i thought alison. considering i was on 20 on monday. i was quite chuffed at the fact i was actually toleratinga tablet that would actually help me❤️
