I am new to the forum and just wanted to provide any support for anyone undergoing a stent procedure or recovering from one. I am a 61 year old male and I kept myself active with running, sailing, cycling etc. However, I started to become breathless when walking the dog. Net result was that I needed 2 stents (2015) and then another one on 2017. The procedures were straightforward and I attended the cardio rehab sessions run by the NHS which I found useful. I now take aspirin, omeprazole and statins daily. I continue to run, sail and cycle and feel fit and well. I did retire as I had a stressful job, which along with a healthy diet and fitness regime, has meant that I lead a full and active life. Mentally, I think my condition made me anxious but I manage that by focussing on the positives of health regime, family and friends, pleasurable activities and lastly finance. I have seen comments on other forums about ‘why me?’ and I was always surprised at the rehab sessions about how many fit people attended! I guess it’s just our lot and we have to get on and deal with it. Here’s to healthy living!

Great post, thank you! An encouragement to us all
Welcome to the forum. Not that I'm not new myself. Great post. No haven't really thought why me but am taking a while to get used to the situation. Suffer anxiety normally so this a real challenge. Have angiogram tomorrow. At least it will be one thing ticked off the list.
Thanks again
I'm very glad it worked out for you
