Hi Rupert, I had left knee partial replacement done on 16th Dec just gone, and was told I couldn't fly for 3 months after the op. I'm also on warfarin, but no mention made of that. Good luck, WBA.

Interesting, thanks. I had my left partial knee replacement 22/11! Just as well didn’t book the Caribbean 😳

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you. With regards to flying you really need to ask your GP/cardiogist about this.

I was involved in a database that monitored people's progress after hip and knee replacement. You should be able to drive 5 - 6 weeks post surgery subject to getting the OK. One issue with flying is hanging/walking around airports. Subject to your progress on physio you may cope after 6 weeks but it may be up to 12. Fill recovery typically takes between 6 and 12 months.

Do you have the option to change your dates?

Thanks for that, just sent to my adult kids who think I’m making the most of it, just over 6 weeks from op.

Had an AVR (mechanical) in Oct 2015 with pre-emptive double by-passes and have taken warfarin since (5mg daily)

In Feb 2016, I flew to Thailand Feb 2016 - no problems

In Aug 2017 I suffered Spontaneous Compartment Syndrome in my left arm in June 2018 Flew to the States

Have flown on regular trips to London (live in Scotland) and Europe

and am recently returned from Bali.

I have had no problems at all since 2017

In 2105, I was told not to fly for three months (to be honest it was the last thing on my mind anyway!)

I would just relax and enjoy and keep taking the tablets.

The only thing that I took care of was getting myself a medi-tag dog tag with my details on it and that I am a Warfarin user

Hope this helps

I’m not on any anticoagulant, if I fly and long haul, would it be advised for me to take one?
