Have you tried a wedge pillow? Relatively inexpensive and the pillows do work for breathing or snoring problems. Using one is a bit like sleeping in a recliner chair and may take some getting used to but the item does work wonders for making breathing much easier (or stopping snorers from rattling down the house!).

I use a herbal spray that I bought from Amazon. It works most of the time.

You're having a tough time at the moment Sanpedro. I'm not sure bout taking herbal remedies without running it passed your medical team or a pharmacist to ensure they don't interact with your meds. Is your medical condition affecting your breathing, could you have a bit of fluid and maybe a diuretic could help? If you're already taking a diuretic maybe ask your nurse/GP if it can be increased even temporarily till you're more comfortable Also, as Sunnie2day has said wedge pillows do help a lot.

Have you tried sitting in bed and filling your lungs for a few minutes before you lay down, it works for me.

In hospital I had a bed that could be adjusted into a variety of positions, /\/ being my favourite at the time. If you have a look on t'internet there are a variety of suppliers of adjustable beds which will probably cost about £700. How you test them out is the question.
