CRT-D device
My EF increased from 28% to 39% in the first 9 months. My CRT unit is extremely sophisticated and fully configurable to my needs - It has been "tweaked" as my heart improved to make my life easier. I always make sure I do my homework before I see the EP to make sure I am getting the best out of the unit.
Hi
Thanks for the reply, did you find a huge change immediately after the fitting, did you notice the change or did it take a while for your ejection fraction to come up?
I am just asking as I don’t want to over estimate how good I hope to feel after the fitting after many years of fatigue (undiagnosed heart failure).
My EF is 30% but my cardiologist says it can be plus or minus 7% depending on who does the test as it has quite a lot of the “Human” factor in calling it .
For me, it was a long journey with incremental steps however I had other problems (Sepsis of my heart). My CRT PM has its leads placed on my heart rather than in the main veins of the heart. Apparently, this makes it slightly less effective so hopefully you have a better / faster result.
You may want to ask your EP about Entresto - that and the CRT PM will have you jumping houses!
Thanks for quick reply, I am on entresto also and find it’s made a huge difference from ramapril, also new heart drug being rolled out in January ish called Dapagliflozin, it was used for diabetes but found to be very good for heart failure in diabetics! Supposed to help symptoms by 25% so they say
Thanks for that - I'll mention it to my Heart Nurse - she loves it when I come back with solutions!!!!!!!!
