When did you have it done? I had mine three weeks ago and things are just starting to settle down. My cardio nurse at cardio rehab has been lovely and listened to my moans and reassured me. Are you doing cardio rehab? If not have a chat with your gp regarding your meds, don't suffer in silence.

Do you mind me asking did the meds affect your tummy/indigestion like pains

Early days for you yet then. I've been very lucky and not had any issues with my meds. Most of the meds can be changed to something else if they are causing you a problem. Don't b afraid to tell your gp or cardio nurse. They are there to help you x

Hi

I had angiogram end of May no Stent required but Meds yes

Feelings of Anxiety improved thanks to Rehab .I am slowly learning not to be conscious all the time about my Heart.

The only thing I appear to suffer from is due to keeping Blood Presure low is if I do things that I bend up and down a few times is a feeling that my heart is dropping .Rehab Nurse has explained its due to blood presure .

As my GP says thay cant make us take the Meds its our choice but given the choice I would rather have side effects as opposed to chances of another HA and a shorter life span .

Hang in thier do Cardiac Rehab is brilliant

Quote from experienced cardiac nurse "Six months the body is still adapting", " My friend's sister after year 2 "the first year is the worst"

Knowledge is power, research and learn about what is happening to you. I learned to get rid of the heart pain, with chewing gum, massage, exercise and coping with stress. So over the past 5 months since my HA, I have gone from fear to irritaion.... I avoid foods that create castic reflux,

My meds are Atorvastatin 40mg,, Aspirin 71mg and Ticagrelor 90mg x 2 and a stomach pill. My nurse and therapist is my wonderful wife.

I have alwasy been against increasing meds and look first on Youtube for solutions. My conversation with my cardio next week will be to try to reduce my statin doseage. My HDL is extremely low so maybe I have a case, we shall see.

However, I do understand every is different and getting a good nights sleep is very important. I opt out of taking my "sleep/axiety" tablets as much as possible, but not many a missed.

Hello sasquot. I’m seven months post stent. I still have nights when I wake up worrying but I start thinking of things I like to do or I get up and have a walk around the apartment or look out of the window. Eventually I go back to sleep. I have some issues with side effects of meds but I’m sure we’ll get it sorted. Take each day as it comes and you’ll get there. It’s a bit early for cardiac rehabilitation but when offered it take it. It’s very beneficial and helped me enormously. Your GP can offer meds for tummy trouble so have a word with him/her. We’re all here for you.

Thankyou it’s just lovely to speak to people in the same boat. My friends and family are great but it’s good to speak to others who have experienced it. My rehab starts on 30th of the month and I will certainly be going

Hi Sasquot1, I had my stent fitted in mid-March and with it came a whole raft of meds. I expected to feel better straight away but it didn’t work out that way; it took about five months to work out which of the meds was causing me to feel as if I had a permanent dose of flu, constant feeling of nausea, lack of energy and no appetite for food. Under the direction of my GP, I left out one of the pills for a few days at a time until I found that I was reacting to the Atorvastatin. I’ve now changed to Pravastatin and, touch wood, I feel so much better. Agree with all the comments about rehab, it’s well worth doing, and I’m now enjoying the phase 4 exercise regime.

Thankyou for your advice . Been to see go this morning and she has given me something to try first before we start looking at heart medication. I will certainly go to rehab - think I need to take baby steps and be grateful for every new day x

Heart attack and 2 stents just a year ago and told I have two more blockages, not bad enough to stent yet. First two weeks felt wonderful until tablet side effects kicked in. I had practically every tablet changed for reasons from stomach pain to hallucinations to breathlessness to feeling so weak I cold barely get out of a chair. Everyone reacts differently and I'm my GP's worst nightmare for reactions to meds.. Only now am I starting to feel normal.
