I’ve just been for a walk. It’s not hot but it’s warming up. I found the walk harder. Took me longer to get into the rhythm. I had to push harder than normal. Afterwards I’m feeling strongly nauseous and yuk. It’s the first time it’s got warmer since my HA is it normal to find things harder after heart issues in warmer weather? And the nausea? Any thoughts please.

Walking in warmer weather
I was told that hot baths after a HA can effect your BP and heart rate. I had an Nstemi end of Feb and a stent as my artery was 99% diseased but I walk 6 miles some days and feel I could walk much further with no adverse affects but i suppose it depends on your heart condition, age and past fitness but I aren’t sure. The experts on here will advise you. Take care x
I had a HA and angioplasty last June.....in September I returned to my Fitsteps exercise classes and did two lessons with no issues.....I then attended a third on a very hot day and it was hot in the studio....it wiped me out. For about 36 hours I felt quite poorly, nauseous and generally feeling off it.I guess that my heart had to work doubly hard.
I also found last Summer that I found it uncomfortable to sit in the garden on hot days.....and I'm a real sun worshipper.
On the "warmer" days we've had over the last few weeks I've been fine.
One issue might be your improved cardio-vascular system making your body warmer than it used to be, so your temperature rises when walking on warmer days. I find that layering clothing works best. I often set off in a jacket and return carrying it, even when it is quite cold.
Of course we all have what I call a "thermometer" to regulate our temperature. Mine works quite well, but my wife's got broken in the menopause and she has all sorts of issues.
I find that extreme heat and cold weather make it much harder to exercise. It seems that the heart has to work much harder so I think your experience is perfectly normal.
In warmer weather your heart has to work much harder, it has to work harder to keep body temperature down at the same time it's working hard to keep up with the demands of the exercise.
Best take it much steadier as your heart is still working just as hard. Try and walk at cooler times of the day and you will enjoy much more.
