Well done fletch - I had mine done on Tuesday. Feeling very sore. I’m moving around ok but am dozing on and off all the time. No times Re release voiced yet but can’t say I'm in any hurry

Best wishes for a good and speedy recovery

I was in for eight days with my bypass last year as I developed an electrolyte imbalance and developed anemia. Everyone's journey is slightly different but the outcome is basically the same. If you are in over the bank holiday you might find it quite chilled out! 😎

Good to hear it’s all over. Take it easy now and hopefully you’ll be home soon. Make sure you ask for pain killers if you need them 👍

Thanks Suzi,

I’ll be so glad to get home and yes, I do ask for painkillers as the wound is so sore. I’m hoping to have my tracer lines taken out tomorrow!

We have a lady on the ward who has dementia. Asleep all day and shouting all night. It’s so sad , when she has lucid moments she really is the sweetest person. I guess it’s just the luck of the drawer..

What a shame. You’re probably not getting the sleep you need. I hope you are home soon so that you can get some proper rest 👍

Congratulations you’ve obviously made a fantastic recovery and should be proud, not just of the hospital staff, but of yourself too! Well done! You may have just set a record!😄. Take it easy when you get home and I hope your super recovery continues.

Well done - seems about a day less than the norm. Just don't overdo it when you get home. At least it looks like you will not get the heatwave we have predicted in the south-east. Recovering in 30C heat last year was far from pleasant.

Just realised where James Cook is. I used to spend extended periods in the area when I worked for ICI - one year it totalled three months!

Wow great news Fletch! Now relax, look after yourself, listen to your body and take time to heal. But it's always such a relief to be out the other side and home at last. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Nic x

All the best for the future 👍I had a aortic valve repair and graft in 2016, then a mechanical valve in 2017 due to failed repair. You will soon be looking back on it all on getting on with your life like I am. I was soon back on a building site within 8 weeks of having my second surgery and I’m more than happy with my mechanical valve and warfarin has not really been an issue at all . Best wishes Paul 👍

That’s wonderful news, you can start your recovery proper once you are home, that’s what I found anyway. It is a bit unnerving the first couple of days when you suddenly don’t have any medical staff on hand, but it is so nice to be back in your own surroundings.

Best wishes, Wendy
