I saw the angina specialist today who advised that I should have the angiogram. However I noted he prescribed 600mg of Clopidrogeol to be taken the day before. Is this dosage normal and has anyone had any side effects to this. Not looking forward to this.
Many Thanks

Warfarin and clopidrogel do somewhat different things to the blood.
Clopidrogel coats the platelets so they can’t clump together and help to keep them from forming plaque on an artery creating restenosis on a stent. Think of it as Teflon coating each platelet.
Warfarin actually thins the blood and requires monitoring to measure the degree of how thin the blood gets (INR) and is given to cardiac patients that have AF or valve replacements to keep the blood that can pool in these patients and form clots - which are the leading cause of strokes.
My husband takes both clopidrogel and warfarin and our cardiologist schooled us on exactly what each medication does.
