Life insurance..

I got life insurance about 5 yr ago, as I was only aware of mild arthritis & factor5 laiden, and everything else bp etc was ok. So since being diagnosed with PAD last September, how does that effect my policy on death? Does anyone know.. or help.

To my mind it should not as life insurance should be based on medical conditions that existed when you took out the policy. If it were otherwise it could become useless over time if say someone developed diabetes and then angina. I would suggest you read the small print carefully as not all insurers are equal.

Yes, I thought it would of been on my health at the time. So will check policy, to see what small print states . Thanks

As Michael has said it shouldn't affect your policy at all as the policy was taken out before you were diagnosed with PAD, although if you'd had symptons but wasn't diagnosed that may make a difference. Definately check the small print, you may now need to advise them of your diagnosis.
