Does anyone on here have life insurance who has a replacement aortic heart valve?
I have literally scouted high and low and just get knocked down every time.
I have tried all the big names as well as brokers.
I have been given the all clear by my consultant and only need check-ups every 2 years but the insurers still wont accept. There doesn't seem to be an insurer out there that will just exclude the heart. (I could die from a lot of other things lol!!)
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum! As a lifelong diabetic I have up on life insurance when that on my initial mortgage had run its course.
You can't just exclude the heart. I have known someone die of cancer and another of sepsis. Both death certificates gave heart attack as the primary cause of death!
You do not mention your age but life and travel insurance increase with age!
I came across this site which could be a starting point the-insurance-surgery.co.uk Click on the icon 'medical conditioner's on the home page and there is a feature on life cover with heart disease and some case studies.
Hi, I had a replacement valve and aortic repair in May 2017. I applied for quite a chunky amount of life cover only a year later and was accepted with Scottish Widows however I was rated by 300%, ie the premium was 3 times what it should have been. This was for business protection and thankfully I wasn’t paying but they did underwrite me and give cover, try them if you haven’t already.
When I took out my life insurance the straight policy was so loaded I took out an endowment at a lower monthly rate. It was doing quite well until a larger company took them over and slowly eroded the benefits like the ability to extend the term or increase the amount. I hate insurance companies!
