Yes, as per the above website (and others) it can cause cardiac issues, including raised heart rate.

I've never had a problem with it, but I'm on a low dose (30 mg).

As always check with your doctor/pharmacist if you're concerned.

It can cause an irregular heart beat as well. I wouldn't recommend this antidepressant for anyone with cardiac issues as there are many alternatives to this mediication. It was prescribed off label as a sleep aide for me some time ago and I was only taking it for a day or two and it made my heart a bit out of synk. I stopped taking the med and and side effects promptly disappeared. Heart related side effects are not uncommon with tricyclic antidepressants, and I found the side effects to be intolerable.
