Stent fitted 2 days ago specific chest pains

I had a stent fitted after having my LAD 70% restricted, op went well and Kings in London were excellent. on my first day home I slept great and had a day of part rest and part active to slowly get back into things. I tried to put teh anxiety to one side with some non specific chest discomforts not pains, in the evening after dinner I had a long lasting pain on my left side more piercing than dull or pressure, GTN did not seem to take it away and after about half hour of no relief decided to call the Ambulance, are these pains common?

I had 3 stents fitted into my LAD several years ago. I had several weeks of chest pain. I would not try to get back to normal activity too early. Rest and build up slowly. Have you been offered cardiac rehab yet. Ask your GP about it. It's very good for building confidence post cardiac procedures.

hi jaycey noticed you didn’t mention HA. does that mean you had stents without HA. reason i’m asking is i’m going for 2 nd angio next wk. my first one was after HA and wondered if i need stents this time will recovery be quicker and easier that post Ha. hope i’m making sense. iv read conflicting stories bout recovery. i’m just trying to prepare work details as i’m self employed and hopefully will be back in the saddle much quicker this time round❤️shiona

I did not have any "recorded" HA but in looking back I certainly had 3 instances that could have been mild HA.

Slow and steady build up of activity is the best approach. Stents take a bit of time to "bed in" - just give it time. I was advised to avoid any chores or lifting for 7 days post stenting.

The advice i was given when I left hospital after stent was "don;t lift anything heavier than a half full kettle and don;t try to strip and make a bed for some weeks". As Jaycey says it does take weeks to get back to normal activity - take things very much more slowly than you think you need to. Best wishes.

Hi Phil, I have a 50-74% LAD restriction but they are treating that wraith meds, I had 2 stents fitted in RCA after H.A. and basically done no lifting for first two weeks and now 4 weeks on I still don’t lift anything that makes me grunt or groan. I started walking almost immediately a km a night then built up and im now doing about 4km.

I’ve had no pain issues and no angina since my op. (He says touching wood)

As the others say on here it’s all about listening to your body now until stents settle.
