A month after the last update his daughter has posted a picture of him with his daughter Georgia. Apparently they all enjoyed lunch together yesterday. For six weeks post-op he is been doing well and has been given the all clear by his doctors. I did spot some nasty comments on the web. As my father used to say "If somebody has nothing sensible to say then it is best they say nothing"!
Mick Jagger: A month after the last... - British Heart Fou...
Mick Jagger
I remember the 6 weeks , thought I was ready to start doing a bit more , I was pale with yellow patches and I didn't realise but people let me know
I hope he rests and incremental exercise and doesn't start going too far it's note easy to take it easy but I think it sets you back hard if you push it at week 6
There is one major difference. If I remember right you had the full works (open heart) whilst Mick's was minimally invasive. When I was in the discharge lounge only one person seemed quite chipper and it turned out they had had the minimally invasive procedure. Yes, he needs to be sensible but I am sure he has the top cardiologists!
I was more commenting on his skin tone to be honest , that's a refelcetion on how the heart is recovering I think and at six weeks when I look ya my photo I was pale like he is in photos.
Cardiologist are probably on his Skype 24/7 but we know ourselves the body needs time and gradually hearing process .
He is looking great and I am astonished Evey week when I see people 80+ at CArdio rehab doing great too , it's miraculous
I’m happy for Mick Jagger and his family and mates. This is the kind of treatment that most of us enjoy in the USA. You have the problem identified and within days you are in hospital theater hopefully resolving the problem.
My heart breaks when I read many of the posts on this Board about the wait times in the UK for cardiac issues and the delays in getting lifesaving diagnosis and procedures.
I’m sure I miss knowing the benefits of having National Health Care run by the Government. Here in the USA anyone can go to the ER with a HA, be seen immediately (they will skip over everyone else in the wait room), be diagnosed and if it’s a heart issue they will be admitted to hospital immediately and any necessary procedure done either the same day or within days. ER heart specialist are on schedule everyday. They have their own practices but if they have hospital rights they are required to serve in the ER on a rotating basis. You then have the right to continue to see that doctor after surgery or choose one of your own. Then that physician is your physician to follow you and your heart disease. You choose your doctor. They changed our ObamaCare legislation after the “if you have a doctor you can keep you doctor” debacle.
