I had endocarditis last year, I too was 39 which led to me needing an AVR. You do think every twinge or ache is your heart but that passes. It seems as time passes you get to know your body better and what to look out for. I still get aches and pains but they don't worry me any more as they did before.
Hi Lisa, I had both Myocarditis & pericarditis 18 months ago and am still recovering. It can be a very serious condition and I totally understand how you feel especially in how it makes you totally aware of your heart and every little twinge/pain. If you are no longer on any meds that is a very good sign but be aware fatigue and symptoms like breathlessness can continue for some time. Please do go back to your GP if anything worsens incase you are off meds too soon but hopefully you can continue to build your strength gradually & make a full recovery very soon x
Hello I'm a 38 year old male I had myocarditis in 2014 and in 2018 what has left me with a heart arrhythmia I'm worried that it will keep reocuring or will it fade away is there any one in a similar situation 😔
Hi Chris, Ive also been left with an arrhythmia which I find scary. Im starting cardio rehab soon so hope that being supervised whilst building up my activity levels will help me feel less anxious. Im so sorry to hear you had a 2nd bout of myocarditis so soon - I knew it was possible to suffer again but you must have been bately over the first when it happened again - i really feel for you. I hope you have a good GP who is supporting you. Do try to get on a cardio rehab programme if you can .
Do keep chatting on here people are very supportive. I hope you can - really push it with your GP 👍🏼 will be a good project to focus on finding out where & when there are sessions near you etc and take the info to GP. Mine runs in local sports centre. Good luck.
You have been through a traumatic experience and it will take time for you to come to terms with it. Talk to your family. Ask you GP surgery and the hospital if there are any support groups in your area and join in with them. There may be a cardiac rehab team in your area that can give you medically supervised exercise and advice to help you through this. People on here are very helpful too.
Sweet heart, I know, I send hugs and hope it pops up in your mind less and less as time moves on. It will... If not do speak to your GP as Jimmyq says. 💐
