Following hospital admission in March 2024 after what was thought to be MI I was diagnosed with Myocarditis. Bloods (Troponin levels at 1275), ECG, Echocardiogram, Angiogram and Cardiac MRI confirmed Myocarditis. Lots of support and information when they thought it was an MI but then discharged from cardiac nurse support after Myocarditis diagnosis with no support or information ??? What am I allowed to do, can I travel, are there treatments I should be getting ??

Hello
I am sorry you have been left with no support and I do not know the answers either I hope others will see your post that do
You could try and get to speak with your Doctor who should be able to tell you and maybe the BHF Nurses that I will put you the number on will be able to give you some advice
Let us know how you get on x

Hi, thank you. I've contacted the BHF helpline who were helpful. Seems its a matter of monitoring my own symptoms, of which I have non now and then attending the Cardiac consultation in about 2 months for my review. It appears that apart from Anti inflammatory meds (Ibuprofen and Colchicine) they won't do much else. GP has kept me on Ramipril and Bisoprolol to "give my heart a rest" They may do a further Cardiac MRI to see if there is any significant scarring after the Consultant review. Best regards.
Hello
I am really pleased you found the BHF Helpline so helpful
It is good you are having no symptoms at this moment lets hope it stays that way till you have your tests and review
If you have time when you have had them done it would be nice to hear how you have got on x
hiya - I had myocarditis about 8 weeks ago and had to use the internet to work out what I think I should or should not be doing. No info provided at all by the hospital. How are you feeling now?
