Call your dentist, you may have an abscess forming.
I found alternating aspirin and paracetamol every three hours fairly effective when I had an abscess.
In root canal treatments the canal must be opened and treated if an apical abscess starts up, pain killers won't cure the problem, ex dental nurse hat on here 😊
Although mine was described as an abscess I do wonder. I was constantly refused antibiotics until two weeks after extraction when the gum area was still inflamed and my face swollen.
Morning Sgal. I have had a root canal treatment too. It can take awhile to settle. Use plenty of hot water and salt to gargle and try putting a hot water bottle to face. Obviously making sure you don't burn yourself. Take care
I'm on warfarin, bisoprolol and losartan and I can take co codamol, I hate taking any painkillers if I can avoid it, but sometimes needs must X
You could try taking some arnica pillules, good for treating pain and helping to reduce inflammation
Thanks for the replys. Been to dentist again today, he thinks it’s jst inflammation. Has given me some antibiotics and try settle it down. Pain is horrendous though. Taken paracetamol but it’s not shifting it. I got some co codamol from chemist. See if tht helps later on
Good morning my husband had a heart attack and stents in February. On top of that he had been having dental treatment for the previous 4 weeks. To cut a long story short he ended up back in hospital with pains in his chest and whilst there managed to see a dentist from the hospital dental service. He subsequently had the tooth extracted once the cardiologist was happy that there was no further issues with his heart, as if he had waited to go back to his own dentist he would have had to wait in pain for 3 months until he could stop the thinners temporarily while he had treatment. The toothache after extraction was severe he was on a cocktail of painkillers while in the hospital, when he came home he was on codeine and paracetamol he ended up spreading the codeine across 24 hours taking the 8 a day but one at a time so could keep them topped up and taking paracetamol every 4 hours. He like you ended up on antibiotics too. I understand that the thinners make the healing process much slower not sure if the same can be said of bisoprolol which he is also taking. Time is as they say is the healer, it took almost 2 weeks for him to be pain free, as others have suggested gurgling gently (so he didnt disturb the blood clot that forms over the extraction) with salt water and a hot water bottle ( in a very fetching penguin cover!) helped, the antibiotics I think were what made the difference. Hope you are starting to feel better I've never seen someone in such excruciating pain as my husband had it's hard to watch someone go through that especially on top of a heart attack he said the toothache was worse! Hope you feel better soon
Maybe get a second opinion from another dentist. An xray should show an abscess.
I had a tooth abcess. It was incredibly painful, i took any painkillers i could lay my hands on. The dentist had to wait until the abs had had a good go, i remember the relief when he injected the local
