Having just read my title it sounds like I should be on an AA forum ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

So i will start by saying I was not a lush .. however I did drink socially... and yes on occasion had over indulged at the weekend. Or when I had had a bad day at work I would reach for a beer or glass of wine.

However with my diagnosis on 7th feb 2017 that I had developed severe heart failure... and in an effort to keep as healthy as possible.. I decided to cut out alcohol! No easy feat ...both mentally and socially. However since this decision I have:-

Lost over a stone in weight ( and not put it back on!)

Got the best social life than I have had in ages ( lots of meals out .. theatre and cinema trips.. book club quiz nights)

No hangovers now.. ever (yaayy)

I am happier and more contented

So the question.. do I miss drinking .. he'll no!!

Do I wish I had stopped drinking earlier... absolutely!!

If you are thinking of trying to abstain.. . I can absolutely recommend it. Happy weekend everyone x

Hi applause 17 I totally agree ... although decaff is also not good for the ticker... so more juice bars please ๐Ÿ˜. Seriously though it's sad that some people's reaction to my not drinking ( even knowing my heart condition) think that I am a sorry case as I no longer drink When the exact opposite is true... I am happier than ever and feeling great and healthy too.

I switched to alcohol free Heineken which I have every so often. Tried some alcohol free wine but never thought much of it so haven't had it again.
