Two years ago today was my cardiac rehab heart assessment, the day that targets were set and when I started my fitness regime. So, it’s seems appropriate to release my latest blog - ‘pushing the boundaries’ …. peterjemmett.blogspot.com/2...

Hi Peter. Wow wow wow. I am so impressed with your commitment and your perseverance. I have always assumed I couldn’t run because of not wanting to increase my heart rate above 125 (told that in cardiac rehab). You have done amazingly well. Congratulations and keep it going. Thanks for sharing. Take care. Zena

To be honest I couldn't have done it without the incredible support I received from my fellow joggers, the support has been immense right from when I first started on parkrun.

Hi Nick, how are you progressing? Leicester City not causing too much stress I hope.

Hi Peter

Progressing well thank you . The Foxes will never fail to cause me stress it’s just a given and amazing how many Leicester fans are a part of this group there must be a connection in there.

I have been playing walking football for a few weeks now and it’s amazing how hard it is . I am the youngest in my team by 20 years but far from the fittest one there .

Usual aches , pains and worried that I have come to the realisation that this is just the new normal now so in the whole can’t complain . It will be 1 year for me in a few weeks so wondering how that will feel.

Hope all is well with you and keep up the good work

Nick

Hi if you think you are a candidate for dementia, do some research on statins. I felt I had similar symptoms, stopped statins feeling normal now.

I've not heard of a link between statins and dementia before and find this interesting, I shall investigate further into this.

Hi Peter. Well that's one hell of a journey you've been on and congratulations on your impressive progress. I'm particularly interested in your parkruns. My final cardiac rehab assessment was two weeks ago and I'm hoping to try my first parkrun shortly, also down at the Rye. Thanks for the added motivation. Cheers, Richard.

Hi Richard;

Parkrun is a brilliant way to improve you fitness levels, there is no pressure on you except from yourself and it really doesn't matter if you just walk it, just take it easy to start with. Once you have your first time you will quickly start to want to beat it. The support from both the volunteers and other runners is second to none, we are like one big family looking out for each other.

Please do look out for me and say hello, I usually wear a white WWFC shirt (see profile photo) and normally there by 8.30 a.m.

Thanks Peter. The most I can manage at the moment is very gently jogging with a lot of walking breaks, but I know I'll improve. Apart from simply getting fitter, I have a target of joining the kids in their next 5k fun run in June and the parkruns seem ideal prep for this. I'll definitely look out for you. Many thanks.

I look forward to meeting you though I think tomorrow is looking a little doubtful at the moment.

Hello again. Did I see you in Kingswood a couple of hours ago wearing your 50 shirt? Haring down the hill from the Tylers Green entrance? Kingswood is my rehab stomping ground.

Yes you did, on was on a training run for a 10K I'm entering for Hearts & Souls (cardiac rehab) in May (Not sure about haring though).
