ADDENDUM 13/02/23:

Almost as soon as I published this blog I flipped back to normal sinus rythmn, the first time I have reverted back without intervention since 18/04/22, I was in AFib for about 23 hours. I did not expect this so maybe the Amiodarone does have some benefit after all.

Thank you for your kind words. Chucking in the towel really doesn't seem like an option to me!

Wow ! What an amazing journey, well done. 😃

I just wish I was as brave as yourself. 😔 I’ve lost weight, I take all my meds, but as for the exercise, I’m very much lacking I’m afraid, too scared.

Have you done cardiac rehab? - I found that really builds your confidence.

I’m afraid I didn’t.

At the time I had my HA my mum was in hospital dying from breast cancer, I’d been looking after her previously. As soon as I was released from hospital I went back to visiting her every day all day, it was several months before she passed and I missed out on the rehab.

I'm sorry to hear that, that must have been a really hard time for you.

I'm surprised that they didn't keep a place open for you given your circumstances.

It was a very hard time indeed. My dad had only passed three years previously of a brain tumour. To be honest, and I’m going to sound like a bit of a wuss here, I don’t think I’ve come to terms with the loss of the both, then my HA, everything just seems to have gone down the drain in my life.

Not what you're looking for?
