Tomorrow is one year since I was taken into hospital and told I needed urgent valve replacement. The cardiologist actually said I would die if I went home.

Because of bank holidays and weekends the surgery was on my birthday 2nd January. I was the eight days on a ventilator, but I am here, feel fine and forever grateful to the NHS

Good old NHS. I was waiting for a Mitral valve repair and told there would be a wait of 4 Months. Checked to have it done privately ( same surgeon) and was quoted 4 weeks but £23000.00! I decided to wait and it’s all done now.
