Entresto success

My consultant put me on this combination drug a year ago and it seems to have really helped my heart condition from getting worse. I wonder if there any people out there who have had a similar experience. The NHS only allows those with low ejection fraction like myself to be prescribed this drug.

Not heard of this drug before you mentioned it,i was put on 5mg Bisoprolol,10mg Ivabradine,40mg Fureosomide,12.5mg spiricolatane,5 mg Ramipril nearly 2 yrs ago with a EJF of 30% which has now increased to 55%.I think the drug you mentioned is fairly new

It is not all that new but middling expensive (£1200 a year) - so rationed by the NHS. But you sound as if you would qualify for it. Why not see whether this is possible. Mind you it does not suit everyone who has have been prescribed.

Thanks for replying. I wanted to see how others were getting on.

I've just re-read your post Ollie. 55% EF is normal so the drugs and your life style worked. you don't need Entresto. Congratulations.

Yes,the Consultant was happy,he said the medication had stabilised the Heart,to keep only taking the medication as the EJF is in normal range. Thanks for the support

I’ve been on Entresto for a year and have progressed to the top dosage. I still get lightheaded occasionally but overall I’m improved dramatically. I have been able to reduce my furosemide to 40 mg daily as the efficacy of Entresto increases although I’m still on digoxin, apixiban, atorvastatin and 12.5 mg of bisoprolol.

Feel much better though and can walk long distances, also I’m able to travel again. Two weeks ago Santorini and I’m writing this on a ferry from Naples to Ischia!

Good to know. You sound as if you're on a lot of medication and it would be worth knowing f you really need all of that : as extras I only have a every other day spirolactane 5 mg and nightly aspirin.

Entresto improved my life too, symptoms improved dramatically, I also have a CRT-D . I am waiting for results of a recent echocardiogram and hoping that it may show some improvement in my Ejection fraction because of the Entresto and device as it has been 20 to 25 in the past 18 months.

Thank for your news. I see my consultant again next month and will have an echocardiagram and the result will be interesting.

Hi I've been Entresto for two months now, first month on middle dose and now on max dose. I was implanted with CRT-D three months ago. Oddly I can't say that I've felt any different following either to any large degree which is a bit disappointing. I have experienced being light-headed a few times, sometimes quite alarmingly, but this has gradually subsided, so not so much now. Since my pacemaker pacing is currently at 59% I am scheduled for an AV node ablation in three weeks time and I am assured that I should experience an "enormous" improvement after that; fingers crossed!
