Sorry to report ..... scammers!

Hi everyone, I've been a member on this forum for the past three months and have enjoyed contributing to various threads. Its a great community and it seems obvious that people are benefiting from help and support of others.

Unfortunately I have to report that even on here we are a target for scammers. I've just received (in pretty lousy English) a request from a lady who doesn't have enough time left because of an incurable illness, to give all her money away to deserving causes. She has personally hand picked me to help her distribute 8.3 million US dollars........yeah right!

Yes, we've heard it all before but please ignore any contact from a Mrs Saunders who for some unfathomable reason has an email address starting willijj.

You couldn't make it up!

Have a good evening everyone.

Alec.

Can’t believe you passed up a genuine opportunity to take all that money, wish someone would offer it to me

I reported that message last night. It is disgraceful that we are not even left alone on here

I would like to experience Rolls-Royce ownership for a period. All donations gratefully received!

P.S. I do feel for the poor Nigerian stuck on the space station. They need to raise £25,000,000 for the Russians to mount a rescue mission. Trump doesn't want to know! :)

Wow! I would have ignored her too as only 10 million US dollars would have got me to assist her. Peanuts a mere 8.3, just not worth the effort.

Pathetic targeting people when they're most vulnerable. Good for you Alec

It makes me wonder how these people sleep at night! Glad that you saw through it. I am worried that some people cannot see the scam, including my elderly mother. She says she's fine but I do worry. All we can do it stay vigilant and report when we see it. x

Whilst normal - if there ever is normal - scams can usually be seen through quickly. There has been a glut of web associated scams relating to a Bit Coin revolution for inverters and supposedly being underwritten by the WHOLE team of the TV show, Dragons Den, where the Peter Jones invested 2 million pounds in the company of the two men delivering this supposed super software investment programme...........Even to the point it was printed in the Daily Mirror the following day.......I looked at this on the web and for a moment - a moment that could have had so many consequences - wondered how true this was. It appeared to be fronted by each of the Dragons with an associated story line. Clicking on to the investment part - including how to pay the minimum investment of £250 - other sites the figure is £150 - shows it fronted by Barclaycard, Mastercard etc ect with professional web pages with customer reports of huge investment profits within a very short time. Now with some looking at what was behind the scenes, no actual email address "front" i.e. a web email that looks to be right and is underlined in blue - was what it actually looked like ie if you hold the mouse cursor over a blue underlined email address it should reveal the actual email of the link behind it, which was not what it said it was. Furthermore, I searched on line for the company involved with this scam and get pages and pages back about a huge world wide scam about this bit coin fraud..............watchword if it sounds too good to be true - it's its a scam..........But the up front stuff on the internet was magnificently displayed and most professional and was no doubt a fund for weapons or drugs. I have said this before - just because it is found on the internet - does not make it true.
