Had a heart attack with stent fitted in March of this year. Now due to take a trip to USA originally planned for April but deferred and looking for travel insurance . Has anyone any advice on the level of medical cover that would be appropriate?

Thanks

Most policies will give you more ‘cash’ cover than you are likely to need - even in the US you are highly unlikely to need more than $1m that seems to be the minimum cover. Most companies also give you 2 or 3 options (increasing in price and inclusions (winter sports, cruise cover etc.). Just pick the one that gives you what you need and avoid paying for what you don’t want. And then hope you never have to use it!.

Thanks that confirms my own view will go for what I need

If you have a wife or partner at home... If she joins a Women's Institute group she can join their group Travel insurance policy with Open Travel. They don't ask medical questions & give annual multitrip worldwide cover including USA. for £195.
