Help & Advice please

Does anyone know if there are any organisations that could help please? I am finding it more difficult to cope with daily living. I was diagnosed with Coronary Heart Disease, Significant Heart Failure, Leaking Mitral Valve, Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation, Unstable Angina. I was prescribed preventative medication. I also have several Autoimmune conditions e g Rheumatoid Arthritis, Coeliac etc. Some days are worse than others. I really don't know what I need but was wondering if there was any help and advice out there as I seem to be struggling more on a daily basis. Many thanks.

Hi…

The standard advice is "talk to a professional" …but, in your case: get your doc to refer you to a top allergy specialist and/or dietitian.

Sometimes several "conditions" have one root cause.

Thank you S11m for your reply. Oh so sometimes several 'conditions' can have one root cause. I certainly have several medical conditions. Advancing years don't seem to come alone for me! I'm now finding that no medical profession has ever asked if I'm managing or not. It seems if you don't mention anything no one bothers.

Have you an Occupational therapist? They can help you, if you need help around the house etc. Give you aids and equipment. If not contact your Adult Social care team through your council. Most have a self referral online form you can fill in and request an assessment.

Your Gp can also refer you.

I too have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, and have Mitral Valve regurgitation.

I hope this is of help to you. Take care. Rie x

Hello Riedenise , Thank you for your reply. No one has mentioned an Occupational therapist or any help at all. My GP has never asked me. I suppose he has lots of patients requiring help. So if I contact the Adult Social care team a Social Worker perhaps could help. Yes I have Rheumatoid, Osteoarthritis & Fibromyalgia as well as the autoimmune conditions and the heart conditions too. Yes your reply is of help to me, many thanks.

Hello golfgod, thank you for replying. Yes ha ha I'm trying to be as fit as I can be, just like you! I do have Facebook but I never post on it. I only use it to have a look! I'm not really sure about it! Do I need to join to have a look at British Hearties or is it open to the public? Many thanks for your help. I'll just need to keep going!
