Entresto

I have been asked if I want to start taking Entresto. Is anyone taking this new drug or have any experience of it.

I’d appreciate any information so I can decide what to do. Any bad side effects etc.

We are all different and can react very differently to the same drug. The majority have no adverse reaction to Entresto but the minority that do will always be more vocal!

I suggest you try it with the proviso you go back to your original medication if there are issues. It may though take a month to get use to it and optimise the dose.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve got a few days to think about it. But like you’ve said, I can always revert back to the original meds.

I am on the highest dose of Entresto and for me it had a really good impact almost immediately. I was less fatigued, just felt more like my old self again. The clinical trials were the largest ever carried out on a drug for heart failure and were stopped early as the effects were so positive. As with all drugs it will suit some people more than others but it is certainly hailed as a great addition to the spectrum of drugs available for heart failure and I am immensely grateful that this expensive regime is available on the NHS here in the UK.
