Hi MickySingh. It all depends on whether or not you want cover for cover for pre-existing conditions. If you do...….. It is going to cost. If you want cover for anything and everything including your chest based claret circulator there is going to be an increase in premium to cover heart conditions - how much that will be depends on how recently you had the stents inserted. I looked at getting a policy recently, less than a year since treatment and adding cover for pre-existing conditions added an extra £300 to the cost. As time passes that premium loading will reduce, but for the first year.... Many companies now have an on-line medical questionnaire that assesses risk and then gives you a quotation. I can only advise that you shop around. For the first year after treatment there is a much cheaper alternative - there's lots of places in this country that are worth visiting.
I had a double heart bypass almost 4 years ago and found a great travel insurance company who have insured me for the last 4 years at an affordable price, I just paid £364 for an annual policy for myself (condition coverered 67 years of age), and my husband, worldwide inc USA & Canada with World First Travel Insurance, they are online. Hope that helps anyone looking for good cover at a reasonable price
I had a triple CABG in October and got annual travel insure (worldwide including US, Caribbean, China) for a little over £350. I just used one of the comparison sites and got plenty of quotes around the same sort of number (plus plenty that were very significantly more). Typically the longer you can leave between the procedure (or event) the better the quotes (and the more quotes) you will get, but I think you will still pay more than you might have done in the past.
