Hi i am newbie here, in October i had kidney cancer op to remove a small tumor from my kidney 6 months post op all good. While in hospital i had high BP ! They sent me home with BP tablets, Ramipril made me out of breath when walking up hill, Dr now think i might have angina. I am not taking any medication, no Gtn spray and i only get out of breath when walking up hill. Yesterday i had a fleeting pin prick 2 second sensation in my chest while sitting scared it might be unstable angina. I can walk up 12 steps upstairs and down no problem. Holiday booked for 2 June. Hoping its stress related \unfit , also grieving a loss of a close friend. Now i am really worried about flying and getting a panic attack because i might have angina attack, not even sure i get an answer about it on Friday holiday might have to be cancelled. I know i am a worry wert, thats cancer for you, Any advise please.
Angina advise please.: Hi i am newbie... - British Heart Fou...
Angina advise please.
A friend developed angina after kidney surgery. This is now controlled by isosorbide mononitrate. You need to contact your GP in the morning.
Also ask your GP if you are OK to fly and go on holiday.
Thanks you yes I'm going to ask the question.
Thank you i shall ask the question,it just flipping annoying you get cancer sorted and now this.
Artygran, your GP can prescribe the GTN spray. When I first had symptoms they prescribed this immediately. Sure, this may all be anxiety. But just having the spray with you might help keep you less stressed.
Thanks jaycey. Dr gave me 4 diazepan tablets 1 a day if i need them, just to calm me down until Friday. then they can access me properly, She was more concern about my bp. It was the bp tablets thats started this all off.
She wouldn't coment on my holiday and flying until after the test, to be fair thats what i was thinking
After Friday it off to see grand babies for the weekend, home and pack for the planned holiday holiday or uk somewhere, then back on the diet, exercise, find a yoga class. Thank you all for you responses and advise it helped.
Why no GTN spray?
You could request some from your doctor. It made a big difference to my own confidence when I had Angina and was awaiting a bypass operation. One squirt fixed any heart pain, and knowing that relief was always close at hand helped me live normally.
