Well. Had my 1st angina attack brought on by stress rather than exhersion yesterday.

I hadn't thought about anything else bringing it on...but with the symptoms, Googled and saw it could so later had a spray of GTN and started to Feel a tad better.

Really need to read up about Angina lol.

Been told I have it.

No hardly anything about it lol!

Will try and be calmer today...deep breath...

It takes a while to understand your own triggers to angina.

As well as stress, intense concentration, hot, cold, wind, damp, stairs and slopes, carrying things .....I also find it best to eat lightly for supper, a bigger meal used to trigger angina in the evening. Now it’s soup and yoghurt (mostly).

Cardio nurse also told me that if a GTN spray works, that doesn’t necessarily mean angina. It’s not diagnostic, as things like indigestion are helped by dilating the blood vessels.

I often read here that if GTN worked that confirms angina, I don’t think that’s true,

Thank you. Great information there.

Good to hear what sets others off.

I didn't realise!

A learning curve.

I used to get a fair bit of Angina after my CABG and got sick of having to go to hospital - just in case - never ever put 2 + 2 together until I realised it was every time I hung curtains up. Needless to say since changing curtains for blinds this no longer happens.

Hi Gunsmoke, I'm exactly the same, not stress or exertion, but my angina seems to come on about 8 at night until I sleep
