Yesterday I had an Echo and I found out that I have severe Triscupid Regurgitation and Pericardial effusion, moderate 12 months ago.
I am a Pancreas transplant recipient of 21 years which has now failed and now back on Insulin. I have been having heart issues for the past 6 years resulting in having to have a Pacemaker for complete heart block in 2013 and also two stents in my LAD around the same time.
I have felt unwell for the past 18 months but i am always dismissed and even discharged from Cardiology twice. Just before Easter I had a nasty virus which led on to a flare up of my Rheumatoid Arthritis and subsequent swelling and odema of my legs and feet.
I mentioned this at my routine Transplant clinic, kidney function was fine so it wasn't that, I asked if I could have an Echo because I wanted an explanation as to why my feet and ankles were not getting any better.
My Echo was reviewed by a senior physiologist who said she was going to discuss my results with a Cardiologist the next day, my concern is that I am not currently seeing a Cardiologist, and will have to wait until I see my consultant in the Transplant clinic.
Slightly worried as I've recently started a new job and my employers do not know my complicated medical history. I have told them that I cant do the six flights of stairs which nearly literally killed me the other day!
