Jumping heart rate

Hi all just looking for reassurance really.

I’m 24 year old female.

My resting heart rate is anywhere between 56-70bpm. When I stand up I get dizzy and see black and my heart rate jumps to 110bpm standing still then will level out to around 95bpm after around 3minuites.

Today I was walking I felt awfully breathless and struggled for air especially through my nose also could not talk on the phone so I got off and took my heart rate it was 150bmp. Is this normal for my age?

May I add I have family history of a hole in the heart I have not had this checked should I considering of my jumping heart rate ?

Thank you.

Lots of people get dizzy when standing up too quick due to a drop in blood pressure.

For your own peace of mind see your Dr.

My heart rate jumps about quite a lot for no apparent reason?

I can monitor it at the gym, I have got used to it and just carry on. C

Lots of people get low blood pressure when standing up (Orthostatic Hypotension), as bowler said. The jump in heart rate could be a sign of POTS though (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which is a kind of dysautonomia (disease of the autonomic nervous system) and more common in young women than any other age group. I'd consider seeing your GP about it as they might be able to recommend exercises and lifestyle adaptations to help.

Not what you're looking for?
