Hi there, my name is Jasmine, I'm 22 years old and recently graduated as an actor from Drama School. Before I start my training (2months to be exact) I went for my 'final' open heart surgery, where I was given two metal valves, aortic and mitral valve replacements. I recovered in the 2months and start my intensive training, on warfarin. To call it a miracle was an understatement. It was truly magnificent what the Doctors and Surgeons did for me and I told myself one day I would thank them. Now, I'm not a mathematician, a surgeon, a business person or someone who is earning alot of people, so I can't pay them back for wha they did. But I can tell stories. I am a story teller. So I guess I could write about them? So that's what I want to do. I want to write my story down, perform it, and share it around the UK so that people understand the wonder of what humans can do. And recently with all the stigma and negativity that comes towards the NHS what better time to tell these stories. But I don't want to just tell my story, I want to collect other people's experiences too. And that's where you come in. If you have someone in your life that changed it for the better, or for the worse, a Doctor or Nurse who you admire, a teacher or friend that stuck through it with you, people who perhaps made you feel weak, or silly for having a condition (believe me I've had my fair lot of people telling me to 'man up') I would love to hear from you. All the research will be kept confidential. Please get in contact if you would like me to send you some of the research I am doing for this project. Thanks for reading ! Jasmine x (The picture is me looking all serious!)
Help me tell your story!: Hi there, my... - British Heart Fou...
Help me tell your story!
Hi I think this idea is great , I’m looking to make woman aware of heart disease as doctors do not seem to recognise the symptoms, my own story is one of mixed emotions due to all the medical staff and family around me, good and not so good, perhaps this would be a way of people taking note?

Can I be in the play? Love to be an actress! I’ll message you my story but it’s no where near as interesting as most I have read! X
Love this idea! Will try to message you some of my heart story in the coming days/weeks. Feel free to chase me up if I haven't got round to it
What a great idea would love to take part
What a great idea and such a positive outlook on your experience!
More than happy to share any of my story with you x I currently have a rare heart condition, a pacemaker and severe tricuspid valve regurgitation and waiting for open heart surgery in the next few weeks and couldn’t get through it all without such amazing friends and family.
I also think this forum is such a lovely and positive support network of people going through similar experiences and want to thank everyone who is part of it. x
What a lovely idea, wish you all the best.
Before i volunteer for your project, i would like you to have a quick read through my story (see below link) and see if you feel that i could be a good candidate for your project.

Good luck.
Great idea would love to tell you my story let me know xx good luck xx
Hi Jasmine. There will be no shortage of stories about life changing operations and interventions on this site. With first hand experience you are the perfect person to write about how our doctors and nurses are second to none. I wrote a blog about my journey through a quad bypass, part for myself but also to give an idea of what can be expected. feel free to use what you want if it helps.

Hey! I'm 22 and at university, too. Would love to help you out a bit if you still need it!
