My first was on 29th November and resulted in emergency angioplasty which was diifucult enough to deal with but I suffered another one on the 15th December again resulting in emergency treatment. I have just returned home and have found this all completely overwhelming both physically and mentally. I am now left with ischaemic heart disease and constant angina, I am unable to climb the stairs unaided and can just about manage to get to the bathroom which is 10 metres away from my bed ! I am 54, never smoked, don’t drink, eat healthily and have been a PE teacher for over 30 years, not always practising what I’ve preached but always on the go.
My arteries have no plaque from cholesterol build up but the right coronary artery is stenosed and kinked which I am told has been a cardiac event waiting to happen!
Well so it has and at this moment in time I am so grateful for being alive but I am still in disbelief that it has all happened and I am in this current state. I don’t know how to move on at the moment, I feel I need some counselling and I know I need alot of rehab but where do you begin?

Morning Terry, sorry to hear of your problems. Firstly you should be given access to a cardiac rehab class approx 6 weeks after, they may have counselling sessions there, I would also contact your GP and go to see them, ask them about counselling as well.
Do you have a follow up with your cardiologist? Time to get some questions written down.

Wow I’ve been fit non smoker dance instructor for 20 years, always on the go, then April 15 I had quadruple bypass shock horror, I now have 13 stents still can’t do much, but keep trying to stay positive, I’ve been very unlucky they say as bypasses usually do the trick, don’t give up be positive, I know mentality it’s a struggle, family and friends do not understand how we feel, nor do I expect them to, keep your chin up we can do this 😘😘
