Hello :-)

I can see why you should feel so confused I would to

The blood thinner is a prevention to keep the blood nice and thin so we do not develop clots which could cause a heart attack bit as one is saying you have had one another saying no it is very misleading

Usually though you will come of that blood thinner after a year and if you have stents , Bypasses or not anyone that has had a heart attack goes on them as a prevention

There is another one and maybe more but the one I was on was Ticagrelor and I am not sure if you have another Consultation appointment or a Consultant but I would list all these questions how you are feeling on the meds and get an appointment with your Consultant or speak with your Doctor and explain everything in your post to them

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hello :-)

I know that feeling that no one is listening and I would not class myself as an assertive person but this is your body and your care so keep speaking up and make sure eventually they do listen :-) x

You are confusing being told "no heart attack(heart problems) and yet having coronary heart disease", as being the same thing, they are not. You have a lesion(which can rupture causing a blood clot, hence the blood thinner prescription) that's the disease part, they also know you have not had a heart attack, this is revealed with other tests. Many people have coronary disease and never have had a heart attack, but it is a potential, so you have been prescribed all these medications as risk reduction measures. I agree they go way overboard with many people, your lesion will heal naturally, but the drugs in theory provide slight risk reductions of future problems you may or may not ever experience, hence the risk, the good and the bad, of taking or not taking a drug is up to you. I doubt you will be on Plavix longer than a year (you need time for the lesion to plaque/scab), and after that I would expect you will be on aspirin for life. This is my thought for you, sorry if I misunderstood your concern. Good luck, you are in a good place, in my opinion, to make lifestyle changes to reduce future risk of disease progression.

Hello,

I am sorry you are feeling bewildered.

Have the Cardiologists explained why they thought you had a heart attack or not?

Also perhaps ask why you have been prescribed your medication.

What are the risks or benefits of the treatment you have been offered.

What would happen if you decided to do nothing.

Appox 10% of heart attacks can occur when someone doesn't have coronary heart disease as such.

Known as a Myocardial Infarction non obstructive coronary arteries MINOCA.

The main causes are microvascular dysfunction, vasospastic angina, a small piece of plaque breaking off or a blood clot forming and blocking one of the coronary blood vessels.

I am on Clopidogrel for life to help prevent clots forming in my blood, which doesn't flow smoothly due to my coronary vasospasms.

I live with non obstructive coronary artery disease.
