CRT/D and electric vehicles

Hi. I am new to HealthUnlocked but have had numerous heart attacks and have chronic heart failure. 11 years ago, I was fitted with a defibrillator which was upgraded to a pacemaker/defibrillator seven years ago.

My question is does anyone know whether it is safe for me to be in an electric vehicle? Is there electromagnetism emitted from such vehicles?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi there - an interesting question! There's a small study I'm aware of that suggests there isn't an issue: newswise.com/articles/mayo-...

It's always worth checking with manufacturers directly as they usually test these sorts of issues out and issue all the relevant warnings and precautions.

Hope this helps,

Chris
