Hi Saeeda1,

Is it only on your neck? Do you have any other symptoms?

It’s just the cheek and neck

Best to check with a doctor. Was there anything that might have triggered it?

She’s studying for exams… don’t know if that could have anything to do with it

With studying you usually are staying up a bit later, getting less rest and are slightly stressed. Also if you are studying you tend to push through illnesses as you don't have enough time to take the rest you need. This can all interfere with the immune system. Psoriasis (if it is psoriasis) is an auto immune disease which leads to inflammation. Different people have had different success with foods and nutrition.

Medicines can dampen the symptoms but getting to the cause is very important. There are many triggers for psoriasis - you can look these up. For me it was scarletina and overwork which eventually took me down the psoriasis root and I had to make a massive effort to build up my body's immune system.

It is always best to get a handle on these things before they become bigger. Check out a nutritionist / naturopath for ideas on what to take to build up her immune system. Not sure which exams she is taking but if it not final year's exams for university, I would encourage her to rest. An alternative is to stay home from school for a few days rest and relaxation. Rest will help but at this point is not the only answer. She does also need to build up her immune system with supplements and a good eating regime but a naturopath would have the best idea of what would work. I found that by taking an oil based supplement of Omega 3/6 and 9 (in the correct ratios) helped but it wasn't all I took. I also took other supplements including the antioxidants.

My psoriasis started small but then came on very badly after I kept pushing my body and not listening to it. Those skin rashes on your daughter are her body telling her that something is not quite right. It is time to find out what is not quite right and to build up her immune system. In some cases a food intolerance could be interfering with the workings of her body. Keep looking and you'll find the answer. Wishing you and your daughter all the best.
