Hi All,

I have had psoarisis on the back of my head for about 20 years, I have tried various shampoo's creams and lotions and the only thing that took gave me complete relief and completely stopped me itching was steroids which were given to me for a skin hives. In the last 2 years it seems to have got worse and I believe it's linked to my IBS which also has been soo bad.

I kind of feel it's habit now.

What does everyone else use please?

Look forward to hearing from everyone.

I used to use medicated shampoos but can not seem to find them in the store anymore. I'm going to check online. they seem to help with itch.

It is interesting to read your post as I identify with a possible connection between psoriasis and IBS - I suffer with both.

My chosen diet is gluten free and dairy free - there is so much more choice of food now compared to when I first chose this diet after process of elimination. To begin with this appeared to help my psoriasis as well, but as there are various guessed at factors that can trigger psoriasis it is difficult to deal with it effectively with any medication and lifestyle choice.

I personally have avoided going down the steroid route, but know from other sufferers - including yourself - that this does help greatly.

A couple of days ago I received a response from Lilagrace87 on here about probiotic tablets helping her with her psoriasis. I researched and although the NHS has not done any research into their use with psoriasis they do suggest they may help with IBS, and although they will not routinely prescribe them, my GP has confirmed he will discuss them with me.

I was using Calcipotriol Scalp Solution but that is no longer available. I now use an ointment Dovonex(Calcipotriol) which helps but is difficult to apply to scalp through hair and doesnt stop the itching completely.

Also read her post about the handheld Psoriasis UV lamps - I have one but have not used it on my scalp yet, Lila has.

Good luck with finding something that works for you.

I have a doctor here who clearly does not know what psoriasis does or feels like as he wrote that 'psoriasis treatment is not essential'!
