So very young, Kenny kenster1

The shock and disbelief for those left behind is unimaginable. You said your cousin 'had most things but not happiness', I have known this before and it opens up a host of questions which are mostly unanswered I imagine.

I always feel as much for those involved in such a loss as anyone else, it's a tragic loss for sure.

Thank you for contributing Kenny,

Chloe

Have put some thought into this one. It never occurred to speak of this till now.

Grandad (dad's dad) passed away when I was starting in college. So I just needed to go home for the funeral.

'Some time' after that, grandmum( dad's mum) mention to dad that when they pulled him out of the canal his hands were in his pockets. he brought this news home to us.

I only have two interpretations of this news and neither makes me feel upset. Nor do I find this emotive. Even though he got out of bed, dressed and out for a walk in the night. I can never know what his frame of mind was then.

Given my families, as they were then I can only say that he must be at peace now and I find nothing else to say. In a sense, I am relieved and surprised that this has not troubled me since. That is my only outstanding question.

I am however grateful for Chlo's question for a chance to retell this.

Hello Greyone

Thank you for sharing this memory, it can be a difficult subject to speak of but I feel that there are so many of us who have experienced a loss in this way.

That was a very sad ending for your Grandad and the shock must have been horrendous for you all. I do find it thought provoking when I hear about those such as your Grandad had wash and dressed and went for a walk before hand.

I am wondering if families receiving this news long ago spoke of these losses far more than we do today?

I am very pleased to know this subject hasn't troubled you either.

Thank you so much G1 x
