Hi there chloe

It's always a pleasure to read your Sunday salutation. Thanks to my illness i missed my monthly visit to see mum and dad. I have been taking a photograph of their tree every time I go but i managed to go the following week to keep up my collection. So i am especially looking forward to Easter Sunday on the 21st and my special anniversary on the Monday 29th.

Easter is always such a deeply emotional and family time that i am sure i will be greatly moved. Even ow i still think fondly of family Easters, with cards and eggs of course. Gosh and how greedy we can be. My appetite for chocolate has changed over recent years after loosing 4 stone , I think though i can indulge myself in some quality stuff , when I've found out what this is. Hope someone has a recommendation otherwise it will be Thortons again. I think though it will be a nice big meal with dessert and maybe an Easter egg for the evening sitting by the TV. Just like we used to do as a family.

During one of my early crem visits, i came across the special place set aside for babies so on Easter Sunday i will be sparing a thought for them. Being now 57 and single, i wonder how my life would have changed with my own children. One of my friends had a daughter out of wedlock and had to spend time not enjoying her early years till they made up (with some much needed money). My friends life reminds me that our lives are rarely perfect and there can be much for use to be grateful for when it is so imperfect. I even think it was fine for me to be a little jealous, to at least have a daughter and be a farther.

When i think of the religious holidays , i still think of all those crazy family tiffs that my mum new were inevitable. When cooking breakfast, Mum even used to say "I wonder how long it will be before we have an argument". I can think of that now with a smile.

Easter is supposed to bring us warm weather to keep us horticulturalists happy. So despite the chilly mornings and evenings i must promise myself to spend time in the garden in the afternoon heat.

Hope you all have great plans.

Hi Greyone

Sorry to read you're still not 100% and sending you {{{healing}}}

I love the idea of taking photographs of the growth progress of your Mum and Dad's tree, such a simple but great way of keeping them as a momento too!

Yes, Easter is always a time for reflection and quietness but I do find the quietness a little disconcerting, I have no idea why.

We do indeed have plenty to be thankful for but sadly it doesn't feel like it when we're suffering somehow. I've found it very difficult myself since the accident and shocked that my life has changed so much since, it will be months before I am anyway near walking and that scares me but this week, I asked for something to lift my spirits and confidence and the next day I received, so it does happen and I am thankful for that.

I'm not a chocolate lover but I do hope you enjoy yours this Easter and look after yourself x
