Oh no Lara ! I am going for my first visit to the Aintree C of E on Tuesday 19th.
I have been seeing Prof Moots for over 10 years now but never been to the centre yet. I live in North wales so it is a bit of a trek for me to come and I usually have to have a couple of days getting over my visits to Aintree which tend to take it out of me quite a bit.
I will be trying to get a copy of the notes from the meeting when I go on the Tuesday though.
Thanks for letting me know there was one ! LOL.
bug hugs xx
I have been trying to get direction to the new centre but haven't been sucessful yet. When I get to the main front entrance where we used to go.....where do I go then ?? Any help would be gratefully received !
It's a quite a long walk from the main entrance. If you go to the front desk they can direct you up, I went up the main corridor past pharmacy right to the top, through double doors till you cant go any further then turned right & through some more doors & then your there or email behcets@aintree.nhs.uk, they might tell you to come in a different way in that's shorter. Hope all goes well on Tues xx
Hi there my name is Carol Hughes and I am the Behcets support worker based at Aintree Hospital. I have just seen your post re directions to clinic. It is hard to find. Can I ask if you are coming with someone in a car? If so I would recommend that you get dropped off at the entrance to the clinic, then who ever is with you parks up in the multi storey car park. There is a new entrance now into the hospital so make sure you watch out for that on the way in! once in go past the multi storey car park and take 1st left onto FIRST AVENUE. Follow the road to the end till you get to the Adult Assessment Day Unit on your left. The clinic is in that building. You just go through the double doors and reception is opposite. There is disabled parking spaces outside but you need to get there early to get one!! Hope that helps. You can go through the main entrance of the hospital. But it is quite a walk. However, you can request a wheelchair on reception if your mobility isnt great. Oh and dont forget, if you are on benefit you can claim back travel costs. Just bring proof of benfit with you and you can claim 15p a mile. Not a fortune, but better in your pocket. Hope this helps.
Yes, I received an invitation too and I'm hoping to be there all being well.
Will there be notes of the meeting available for those who can't make it? Carol - in the BSS newsletter you said you had 'personal experience' of Behcet's...can I ask what, if you are happy to share?
