I have been getting mouth ulcers since the age of 12 and genital ulcers since i was the age of 14.

The doctors have been telling me they are both herpes and i'm convinced they are not, my brother gets mouth ulcers and my mum use to at a younger age. I have visited the GUM clinic and the results came back negative. I have also, over the last four years got acne which is getting worst. Can any one help me and point me in the right direction?

You will find a lot of us here that have been diagnosed with herpes before having been diagnosed with behcets.

Are you saying that the tests for herpes came back negative ?

You will also find poeple who have relations who also have symptoms, although at this moment in time behcets is not being classed as hereditory

I am guessing that you probably live in the United Kingdom and if so you could contact the Behects Society help/information at [e-mail] and they can send you a list of consultants or details of the centre of excellance.

If you don't live in the UK then you can ask a question on this forum for consultants who are experienced with behcets in your country.

In the meantime, it might be helpful to write down a history of symptoms and test results etc and also keep a diary so that it will help you if you see a new consultant and even might help with the GUM Clinic.
