Tight Chest

Was just wondering if any of you have suffered from a tight chest whilst having a flare up?

Yes I have a tight chest virtually all the time and as the behcets gets worse the chest and ribs hurt and it is hard to breathe most of the time now. It started intermittantly as a tightness but now has progressed and I am due to see a respiratory specialist in a couple of weeks.

Some people get inflammation of the chest and ribs which is called costochondritis.

Also, some immune supressants have lung inflammation and wheezing as a side affect.

But you really should get your doctor to check it out as you shouldn't assume that it is connected to the behcets.

Hi Moys yes I have this and it has been diagnosed at atrial fibrillation. and also inflamm of the rib cage. Get checked out.

Yep mate. I have been kept in hospital for ECG and other scans as I have often had a tight chest, pain, and other uncomfortable feelings in the chest. Always get checked out. Probably nothing,maybe a Behcets thing, maybe a medication thing - but always get it checked. And don't assume the worst! Tim

Ok so i'm not going insane haha! Thanks for the answers.

I did go to the Dr's on one occassion after embarrassingly almost passing out in the Pharmacy and the Dr told me to stop smoking drugs (I don't smoke let alone drugs haha) and told me I had a chest infection after listening to my chest and gave me antibiotics. I didn't take them as I knew that I didn't and when my flare calmed down so did the tight chest.

If it gets worse I will go and get it checked out but I can usually deal with it and now I know you guys have had the same experience too.
