Hi there! Are your relatives on medication aleady? A lot of us use diet, exercise, supplements etc to good effect alongside medication. But stopping medication and trying something else should be done with proper medical advice, particularly if the person is on steroids or the eyes are involved. Steroids need to be phased out gradually to avoid harm, and this may be true of other meds. I am no expert but my understanding is that where the eyes are involved, medication is key to saving the eyesight.

Hi to you. I use a lot of alternative medicine for my BD. Not on any toxic medication. One thing I would suggest is have your son or sister ever had a vitamin D test as this can cause lots of bone pain, if not worth doing as lots of us are deficient. I take 800iu extra daily. If low will effect calcium in body. I also take flax/linseed oil capsules vegetarian every day for my inflammation and also a probiotic every morning as they believe if your good bacteria in the gut is good it will help everything. I also use a natural toothpaste as I used to suffer horrendous ulcers. I never use soap mainly hibi scrub as I suffer from ulcers, lumps and bumps all over my body. This does help. Use an organic shampoo and conditioner. I eat organic meat (not a lot) chicken etc. Also I do take homeopathy medicines for ulcers Merc Sol 30c which is fab when I need. Hope this helps. We are all different do it is very much trial and error. This site is wonderful with suggestions so just have a go as something’s work for one and not others. All the best for your son and sister.

Thank you yes to vitamin D tests they are all in order. The soap is interesting as my son has horrendous ulcers which is something my sister doesn't have. Definitely worth looking at the organic side of things too. Thank you so very much x

I take acupuncture treatments and massage. It's hard to say how this helps me. But I do it anyways. I also do gentle yoga which I do know helps with the stiffness in my joints and pain management. Finally, I have energy work about once a month which I have found helpful for stress reduction and pain management.

I have found Apple Cider vinegar helps a bit. My Behcet’s is pretty bad, and it helps it’s not a cure. Has to be an organic one with the mother and defo not supermarket one, it’s cloudy and unfiltered. 30ml a day.
