I hope they have found a resolution for your pain. I can understand being scared. Just think you are one step closer to relief. All that paper work cannot be helping matters. I really hope you feel better soon.

Thank you. I waitress, & it's too difficult for me to continue on. I am praying. I will win disability benefits to make life a little less stressful , &,more time to take care of myself.
My family seen how much pain I am in ,& refused for me to go into work today. My manager cut me off the schedule until next fri. As punishment! Now no money to pay bills, & take care of my little ones. I just opened a go fund me
gofundme.com/n9h2mshy here is the link please share. I am praying anyone who could donate a $1.00 will. I pray people who knw what I am going through on a regular basis, and even those who don't will help me in time of need. I have never asked for help, but I am in the lowest point meaning. I can't go back to waitressing it's too much pain trying to talk, walk, sit, urinate, fevers, body chills, then the mental part of it. Co workers telling me I look like I lost my best friend, or you look like your dog just got hit by a car. I thank you for your kind words, & pray I can get approved for disability. Again. Thank you so much just for being there for me!

You need to hire a disability attorney. My attorney just took a small payment out of SSI. When you get disability they give you back pay from the date of your disability or they go back two years. Unfortunately there is no way to get it without an attorney. My father had terminal lung cancer and was denied because he could crawl ten feet. He too had to hire an attorney and my father was himself an attorney. I would get an attorney and let him/her do the work. Otherwise it will just stress you out and that is bad for Behcet's. You are going to have to get one eventually anyway. The sooner the better.
I am happy you said. This. I just applied over the ph on Dec. 22nd. Then I received 2 brown envelopes asking me questions about why I feel I'm disabled, & question about how many pounds can you lift ect... I filled the questions out,& faxed them back. Fri. I spoke with a lawyer who said. He wld take my disability case. He said. He will call me Mon. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO ON MY PART? I DNT KNOW HOW THIS WORKS EXCEPT HE WAS SAYING HE MAKES 6000. OFF THE BACK PAY IF WE WIN THE CASE. PLEASE HELP ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO. THANK YOU, & ALWAYS GOD BLESS YOU!
It took two years for my case to go before a judge. I also got disability 15 years ago. I just remember the attorney did all the work. I did apply by myself, at first. I received the rejection letter. At that point the attorney did all the work. I did not even have to appear before a judge -- just my attorney. Everybody who applies is always rejected. I guess the government wants to see us sick ones jump through hoops to get the medical care and financing we desperarely need. If you get a rejection letter please do not give up. It may pay to shop around for an attorney. My attorney only took a small percentage of my back pay. He based his fee on the amount of back pay I received. Does your attorney say it is 6,000 regardless of what your award is?
I come from a family of attorneys and it really pays to shop around. The first attorneys I called would not even take my case. They are supposedly the best disability attorneys in my city. The second attorney said it would be challenging but he loved challenges and only took a certain percentage of my back pay. The amount of disability you get is based on your income of your most recent job. Therefore if you make minimum wage you won;'t be awarded as much as you would if you were making 20.00 per hour. That is why my attorney based his fees on a percentage of my award. Also even if Medicare determines you became disabled ten years ago they only go as far back as two years with the back pay. For example it was determined that I became disabled in 1992 (this was 2002) so I only got the back pay from 2000 to 2002. At that time my back pay only amounted to 5500 and my attorney took 1200 of that. I am just worried that your back pay could be less than the 6,000 the attorney is charging. Also when I applied it was the year 2000 and a lot has changed. At that time it took an average of two years to go through the court process. NPR did a segment on disability and a disability attorney says that now it takes an average of four years. I do not mean to discourage because in the end it is worth the wait. I just want you to know it is a lengthy process so that you can brace yourself. I wish you the best of luck.
