Hi, I am currently waiting for a full diagnosis, I have a differential one of Behcets. But part of this diagnosis came due to consistent spots, very red some large and some small. I always have them on my face, in my head and on the top of my back. They last weeks at a time. They can at times be itchy, and are generally painful to touch. Only time my face has been clear was when I was pregnant. Xx

I have become used to them over the years, I don't bother with make up at all anymore, unless I am going out which is rare and with them being itchy I tend to rub make up off. Haha. I have never been without them. I used to also get a lot of boils and abscesses. I hope the settle down for you. Depending on where they are they can be very painful can't they? I give some names at times as they look like extra heads. Crikey I sound wacky don't I? Haha. Xx

Hi, I get them on my face when I reduce the dose of steroids... Have you been reducing your pred if you take it? Will :)

Hi I have had them for the past 23 yeas. When I was a teenager I had clear skin then after my first flare I had them from that day on. On my face in hair line and top on neck in hair line. I normally had 15 at a time. When I was younger I had more of a mass sore over the whole of my chin. Painful & embarrassing. Now diagnosed I'm on colchicine & they have reduced to about 1 per day. I have never been able to wa foundation but now feel I don't have to anyway.

What are the spots and what can help ? I've been on my meds for so long but spots are new

Yep, here too. Small ones across forehead and in hairline either side, down sides of my neck. They come up fast, too. In under an hour, I can go from fine to looking like I've picked up a dose of something unpleasant. Nothing seems to significantly help, except pred which gives me perfectly flawless glowing skin on day three, before I turn into a complete moody hag on day 4+. I've never taken it just for my skin, I'd need to be in serious strife with ulceration to justify the negative side effects.

Tea tree oil seems to make the area a bit less angry, perhaps worth a shot?

Tea tree oil seems to help here, too.

I have been explained that they are like ulcers. Inflammation in the hair folicals. Like on the arms & legs, ulcers can happen anywhere. I find them ugly but not as painful as ulcers in other places.

Just saw post from a behcets group I'm in...a derm recommended a 50/50 combo of cod liver oil and vitamin e. She used it and within four days they were gone. Worth a try. Hope u find relief

Hi, I have these sports all over my chest and back, they are getting worse.

This combination sounds like it's worth a go, although I do take loads of vitamins and dietary supplements that include these things.

I wonder , Was this combination taken orally or applied topically to the effected area? Also, do you make it up?

Dear Erssie, I'm only speaking for myself but from reading so many posts over the year or so I think all the above questions you have will vary form one BD suffer to the other.

For me mine just pop up for no reason. Start small pin head size & red, NO white head. They can pop oozing clear fluid or just grow to about 2 to 5cm in size. At times having a range of 1 to 25 or more. Some end up joining in size and YES they are sore. I'm sorry I don't feel comfortable putting a photo up but I know I have viewed my exact sores on a BD web sight before. Sorry it was a few years ago & I can't remember.

When I took high doses of prednisone, my skin would become an oil slick and I would get these large boils and spots around my hairline and back. No white head just red looking, big and painful.

Under my chin was the worst and I used to try squeeze them, I have no idea why? because they hurt like heck!

I have quite a few scars today so please don't be picking! I always had perfect skin up until I took prednisone (kidding) when I stopped the pred my skin was back to perfect. Who knows? I blame all my negative symptoms on prednisone.

I hope you get it sorted samhawkes x

Hey sam. I get little spots on my face, arms and legs constantly because of behcets. I always have the ointment and cream versions of Bactroban handy which clear it up in a day or so. If theyre itchy and sore which mine sometimes are you could try putting hot teabags over the spot for a couple of minutes and the swelling will go down too.
