Can I drink on methotrexate

Can you a glass of wine on methotrexate ?? Or is it a no no ?

We can tell you of our experiences and opinions, but none of us can tell you if you can drink or not, it would be irresponsible to give that kind of advice. My Liver became very toxic on Methotrexate and I admit I did have a glass of wine or 2 every now and then when I was on it......My Liver function tests became so high that I had to stop ALL my medications for over 6 months while it settled down again. I was then given Infliximab Infusions which I am now on every 6 weeks and my Liver is still not completely clear. This was not a good 6 months as I had to endure a real bad relapse without being able to take anything for it

Not say this would happen to you....but it is something you should think seriously about and ask your consultant as they know you best.

I agree with the above. I was told by a Dr once that you shouldn't drink but one glass every now and then wouldn't be an issue. But I have had a glass once in a while and always feel terrible after. We are all different and the decision is yours but personally I have stopped drinking and if I fancy one I have a very weak shandy to quench the craving of a beer!!!!!
