Sorry to hear your daughter is struggling. If by 'tide her over' you mean until she goes to the pain clinic, I suggest you seek help before then. She shouldn't have to stuggle on when things are worse and it's probably a good idea to get checked out. Not sleeping must be stressful and stress and exhaustion can excacerbate symtoms.
If you know the cause, e.g. she has ulcers in her mouth and throat and you recognise the symptoms as a typical (but worse than usual) flare, there are various recommended things you can try right now listed in a Society factsheet which you can find on their website. There are lots of suggestions here on the forum but the search box isn't working at the moment so you would have to do a lot of scrolling to find them.
I suggest you seek medical advice first thing tomorrow - or if you feel it is urgent for today, try your GP out of hours or NHS direct. A medical professional could check if there is anything else going on, such as an infection for example. Your daughter may benefit from something extra or different, depending on the cause of this pain, which unfortunately none of us can diagnose.
Thanks for your reply, she has ulcers in her mouth and down her throat, (she had steroids reduced) which is maybe why they have returned, checked dates for pain team and she actually has appointment for tomorrow, have upped steroids again and along with her usual meds and possibly a sleep she will feel better, thanks again for reply
Glad to hear she has an appointment tomorrow, I hope it goes well and she soon feels better.
Hi so sorry to hear about your daughter feeling so poorly. It must be very difficult for you also to see her like this. Do you have any other support for yourself, especially if you are not sleeping as you need to get some rest to be able to keep strong for her. I have suffered with BD for over 26 years and have come across tips here and there that have helped me in the interim of doctor appointments. Strange but true the only drink most people seem able to tolerate whist in a flare is Coca Cola. .....it soothes the ulcer pain and helps to stay hydrated which is very important as this alone can make you feel even more fatigued and tired. Hope this tip works for your daughter and that you get seen by the docs sooner than later.

Diet, diet, diet.
I had the same thing around the time I ended up being diagnosed. The pain in my ear was so bad it was waking me up several times a night. I had an ulcer the size of a quarter at the back of my throat that lasted 7 weeks ~ it was horrible.
I began reading about pro-inflammatory (gluten, sugar, dairy, red meat) and anti-inflammatory foods (fruit, veggies, fish, healthy fats, green tea, ginger, garlic) and changed my diet drastically. Within no time I was on the road to recovery.
"Let food be thy medicine."
In the meantime I used Anbesol topically to numb out the ulcers so I could eat and drink and have a bit of temporary relief. If you don't have Oracort already I would suggest asking the Dr for it. It goes right on the ulcers and can stop them from progressing and really shorten the length of time and severity of pain.
