Menstural cycle changed and should a condom just be fine for sex?

Hi, so i decided to wait to start taking the combined pills i was prescribed until my next period, which came two weeks earlier than expected. My menstural cycles used to be long ( about 40 days) now just this month it changed to 23 days. It used to be short like this back in 2017 (I have it recorded in my p tracker app). Is it unusual that my last period started 27th of February and ended 3rd of March, and now just yesterday it started again? it shows on my app that means i ovulated 5 days after my last period ended.

Also I'm not in a serious relationship and don't even know if it's worth taking the pill anymore as i don't know how active i am going to be, and wondering if a condom and pull out method will be okay. The guy i'm seeing assures me that just a condom is fine. I'm a virgin so I'm just worried about condom breaking and getting pregnant and now that my cycle is different i'm more worried, but at the same time have never been on contraception before, so worried about possible side effects.

I am not really sure about what you are asking. If you are significantly worried about falling pregnant, taking the pill as well as using condoms would make the risk of this extremely low.

Hi, thanks for your reply :). Sorry my question is a bit all over the place. What i meant to say is that my last period ended the first week of March and now it has started again, which is a bit odd for me to have a period so close together. Since i chose the combined pills it does have more side effects than the pop which just makes me a bit nervous taking them, so i wonder if i should have tried the pop first 😕. Also i'm on my 3rd day of period now, could i start until the 5th day of my period? or would have it been better if i had started on the 1st?
