Non hormone coil

So I have a coil fitted which wasn’t very pleasant at the time. my husband could feel it and I had bleeding between periods. But other that that it was fine. It was meant to be a 10 year coil I did get it checked a few weeks later as advised. 6 years on and I started with a high temp and had stomach pain. After 5 days I went to ane and had an infection I was put to sleep and had my abscesses on my ovaries and the next day I had my coil it it was sent off and was infected. I have been bed bound for three weeks plus two weeks off work after my surgery.so one month in total. I ended up with sepsis and had the worse time of my life. I was so poorly. I just wanted to share my experience. It says in rare cases the body objects to it after a few weeks. I didn’t read that it could get infected years later. Please be careful

My question would be as to what infection was detected. IUD infections are rare - actinomyces is a rare complication. Do you know any more about what infection was detected ?
