Progestin only birth control help!!

I started the POP birth control about a month and a half ago. I am home from uni and having regular sex with my boyfriend and wanted a reliable way to prevent pregnancy. However I’ve now been bleeding constantly for 3 weeks, so I’m not having sex, so it feels pointless to be on the pill. Will this even out in the next week? Should I stop taking it? I have to go back to Uni in a month and won’t need to be on Birth control there, and waiting it out doesn’t feel worth it. Any advice is appreciated.

I bled for 10 weeks straight on that before changing to the combined pill which made me stop bleeding pretty much straight away. This could be different for other people though. Maybe contact your gp or sexual health clinic (wherever you get them from) and ask to be changed to the combined pill as you’re unhappy and experiencing bad side effects. I think most will change you but they do say to try stay on it for at least 3 months before changing for it all to have a chance to settle

Unfortunately I can’t use the combined pill as I experience pretty serious migraines with aura. Thinking I may have to wait until I can get an IUD

Ahhh that’s frustrating yeah or possibly the implant, make sure to discuss your worries through though as they might be able to just give you a dif version of your pill. My friend had a similar issue to you and they just gave her a different brand and it sorted her out. I was on the combined pill and it wasn’t working so they changed me back to the original brand I was on and oddly enough it sorted things back out
